While we were in Kofu, we went to several restaurants. The first was the most amazing hamburger joint (without bread, which is great for my Lyme friendly diet). The second one we went to was a chinese restaurant with my Japanese family, and lastly we went to a Ramen "hole-in-the-wall" that only seated 8 people near where we were staying.
The hotel had clocks for Phuket, Cote D'Azur, and Yamanashi
A starter of whole sardines, pickles, chicken, stewed eggplant, beans and cabbage - this was actually really tasty.
Egg drop soup
S entertained us with his origami (in theory it was for the children, but all the adults enjoyed it as well)
At the Ramen "hole-in-the-wall" just down the alley from where we were staying at the Tachibana hotel.
mmmm, Ramen
The spoon had an interesting design, that meant that it didn't slip into the bowl - very clever.
Delicious Ramen - which was VERY filling (although for some reason it did not agree with Nikki's stomach & she was unwell for about 6 hours after - everyone else was fine).
It also came with a bowl of rice topped with cucumber and sashimi (maguro)
The Ramen lunch set came with a bowl of Ramen, plus the sashimi & rice for 550yen!!! So cheap and filling. Basic ramen was 380 :-)
At night the Ramen store turns into a bar, and they had 30 or so of these sake urns outside the front door in the alley way.
Our last night we went to a restaurant on the top floor of the department store nearby. It was nice and convenient, could cope with different easy quick meals that Nikki's tummy could cope with, and was delicious. Here the chef is cooking oysters & steak.
The sirlion steak is partly steamed
The final steak was juicy and incredibly tender - if we had this available in Canberra we would eat here all the time.
