Thailand - one last thing
I forgot to mention my favourite part of this trip - on our way to Phuket we had a few hours in the "Kuala Lumpur low cost airline terminal" (officially my least favourite airport in the world - calling it a hole would be an insult to holes). We had a 1.5 hour delay, and all the kids were running around playing right at our feet. There were kids from Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, China - most of them not speaking the same language as the others, and they were having a ball, it was adorable. The highlight was when the very shy 12 year old girl sitting next to me got her mum to ask if she could have her photo taken with me. I was happy to help & we got talking. This lovely young girl was keen to get my photo, because I was the first white person she had met :-) I was pleased to let her know that she was the first Malaysian person I had met & she beamed with pride. It was a beautiful moment, that really gave the holiday a great start - thank you random Malaysian girl for making my day a good one, I hope I did the same for you :-)
